Fuel economy and your used motorhome
Owning a motorhome is becoming an increasingly popular pastime for the rich. Not only is a motorhome a vehicle, but it also offers a comfortable, livable, mobile space. But following the recent steady climbs in diesel and petrol prices , so to speak, they represent a more difficult and expensive choice since their larger bodies demand large engine which guzzle large quantities of fuel. So fuel consumption now assumes far greater importance when it comes to choosing a motorhome - everybody wants good diesel or petrol mileage. Whatever your choice, it will probably be expensive being a mobile home.
Consider an American motorhome, the Fleetwood - this manages less than 7 miles to the gallon to move its 40 feet length. The pulling power is provided by a Ford, so there is little concern for quality. A Ford build makes for durability and resiliencetough and very durable, with a high-quality engine. Broadly speaking, this is a good choice for the motorhome, whatever its fuel consumption. In the present climate, people will seriously consider the diesel or petrol consumption when buying a vehicle of any kind, even a mobile home.
Next we are in another model of Ford. They are 12-15 miles per gallon, that an average height. This is a very comfortable home with many amenities. The road travel will be quite mild, with few problems maneuvering and turning, even in the most difficult mountain roads. The model of the Ford is best for their mobility, but as far as diesel or gasoline mileage is not the best we could find - there are other more motorhomes with better performance.
And finally we look at Four Winds, built by Dodge, another American company. The caravan has excellent mileage, of 16-17 miles per gallon. It is not known over what distance, but obviously the motor home is not as great as some of the others. Even the trip is very good - a few mobile homes may be bumpy, depending on the surface, but this feels a little softer in the tires. Dodge products are highly reliable, including Ford, Dodge, however, seems to have improved diesel or gasoline mileage, which is something very important in today's economy.
These three motorhomes have slightly different caravan diesel or gasoline mileage, almost all the same width of Banda, or a few miles away. If you try one of the best diesel or gasoline mileage, go with the four winds, for nearly 30 miles per gallon. The Fleetwood is solidly constructed, and another model of the Ford is the most luxurious.
When buying a new or used motorhome, it all comes down to personal preferences. But be aware that all motorhomes do cost a lot to maintain and run, and the diesel or petrol consumption should be a big factor in making your final choice.
